I am in the process of fighting for STD right now while I am completely unable to work, although they approved me for FMLA. I keep getting the runaround about maintaining medical records.
I was told they request them via fax, so I sent them the fax number twice. Then I was told that they can't approve me without medical records. So now, I am waiting to find out if they actually request via fax or if it's my responsibility. I have turned in every single sheet of paperwork that they have asked for.
This is not what you do to people who are already suffering from health issues. They are a poor company with unprofessional employees.

I am getting the old run around on this short term disability claim. I have submitted medical documentation and the doctor sends in reports after every visit.
Yet, I had to request a response from the adjuster, Zachary Valencia, otherwise, would not know that the claim being challenged so Lincoln can set the claim to be denied.
I have received two small payments since my claim.
It has been a month since my last payment. Yet, I had to initiate a dialogue to get information.
I know the insurance company does not want to pay the claim that my job offers!!! This practice is ludicrous when there are legitimate claims.
Lincoln financial has a very bad reputation for being deceptive in their practices to avoid paying claims. I will be contacting the insurance oversight agency.
This may not make any difference in Lincoln financials performance or practices but I will feel better!
My job pays for this insurance and it is ludicrous that an employee has to go through this much trouble and subterfuge to process a simple short term disability claim.
I have two fractured knees and a meniscus tear and I am being told my recovery time is taking longer than expected.
I am 66 years old.
my job physical as a teachers assistant at a school.
I have been off work since May 24,24. I have a licensed professional orthopedic surgeon that I see every two weeks and reports are sent to Lincoln via the doctors office.
Theres nothing else I can provide or do!!!

Verified ReviewerSteals money.
My employer had a glitch in their system. It kept taking money out and put it in my retirement they took an extra $600 out when I put 0 take out on my check.
I contacted my Hr they admitted it was a glitch and to call Lincoln and ask to get that money back. Lincoln refused and said there was no glitch, and that money was not allowed to come out.
Ive been arguing with them and my employer even confirmed it was a huge glitch that they had to manual fix. Ill be involving my lawyer against them since its fraud and they refuse to give me the money they took without permission

I was looking online, 1 x. A man showed up at my door, unwanted at my apt which has NO SOLICITING allowed. NOT COOL!!
An unknown man showed up at my door, in a complex that does not allow soliciting- chatting away, uninvited and AFTER I told him I wasn't interested and Had insurance and that we have our NO SOLICITING policy. He knocked several times after I shut my door. NOT COOL and scary.
User's recommendation: Go to an agent. Do not go online to search or they'll just show up.
Terrible experience when claiming death benefits
Nothing will get done without calling them every step of the way. Expecting them to contact you when something is needed is a bad idea.
Even after confirming that everything needed has been submitted, they will say something else is needed when calling to check on the status. They do not check the submitted application. I have asked them to do a bank transfer. After months of correspondence, they sent a check.
When I called them about this, they said, 'I don't know why it was done this way. I'll have it changed and will have the bank transfer on the way. Nothing else needs to be done on your end.' ... I called them again after a month; nothing was in progress.
They are unprofessional, and most of them ooze a bad attitude over the phone.
There were a few people that seemed helpful, but through my months of correspondence, very few gave me that impression. I haven't had experiences dealing with this type of company before, but I can't imagine many being worse.
- Will pay out if you pester them enough
- Frustration and a lot of time will be consumed
Preferred solution: Apology

Pension benefit
I have read many of your comments and am disgusted that this company is still in business. I have a pension benefit due from retiring from Coca-Cola Bottling Cincinnati.
I have been attempting to collect since January of 2024.
I have sent emails, letters and had many phone calls. I get the same response while on the phone: Your request has be sent to processing.
User's recommendation: Don’t think I’ll ever see my pension

Currently going on 8 weeks without a dime for disability. For cancer.
I pay biweekly for a service, yet I get nothing. They don't answer emails. If I call to try to get answers, I get a different explanation each time.
They are a fraudulent company and the only thing you are paying for is the ceo's salary. (Millions + millions in bonuses)
- Business model is fraud
User's recommendation: Do not do business with this company.
Disbursement Request
After being on the Customer Service, 'Not me department', merry go round for literally 55 minutes we were never able to speak with a person the could help us. If I could give a rating less than 1 (one) if would do so. NEVER invest with these people.
- Extremely poor customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Buyer | London, EnglandI have processed i wrong date of flight
I was trying to book a flight with you, and I proceed a wrong date, and I already processed my bank details and the payment went through. When I found out that was wrong. I tried to contact you in anyway, but you didnt give me no option to contact you, and there was no way to refund my money and to change my flight date or nothing, and you just cancelled my ticket and the money are in your account so this is fraud , I had a really very bad experience with you, and I will talk to all of my friends and my people not to book anymore with your agency
User's recommendation: Don’t ever use kiwi , any small mistake they have *** contact number as no one exists they don’t replace ur ticket or change date and never refund the money back, that’s how they did to me i tried to contact them in any website but an possible im very pissed wth they stole from my account 268 £
Zero Ethics!!
I have been on LOA from work (since march 3) trying to be approved now by Lincoln financial, i have had MANY conversations with various representatives from LFG. These representatives have miss quoted me, have filed incorrect information, have left things out of my statements (i have ALL convos recorded) all of this lead to delayS in my approval.
While BEGGING one of their claim handlers to understand the information i was forced to talk about my abusive marriage, my financial troubles, and my abusive mother. All of this to a payment company- when Im on a LOA (clearly documented) for panic, anxiety, ect. Things i should only be speaking to my therapist/specialists about. The reasons i am out on leave are clearly stated in the doctors notes.
But because the SECOND representative didnt not put ALL of what i said in the claim they are trying to deny me again. I tried calling their ethics line, i have tried customer service, i have asked for a corporate number, i have asked and begged this company for help, understanding and compassion (while i am out on a leave for mostly anxiety) and they wont comply.
They wont give you a supervisor when you ask, they are adding extra hurdles to my mental health recovery i do not have the strength to deal with!! How do you get attention on a higher level from this company?!
User's recommendation: If LFG is involved in anyway with your employer and you have medical needs that could possibly put you out on leave. Work for a different company!!

Verified Reviewer | Sterling, VirginiaTook 8 years to get payment. They paid minimal interest and issued 1099 with incorrect SSN.
Mostly service. It sucks.
Took 8 years for them to pay a death benefit. They added 30 dollars for interest, then gave me a 1099 Form with incorrect SSN. Called, said they would send a corrected form (Not received). Called after a few weeks and said they would email me.
Asked where the service person was, since I had a hard time understanding them.
(He responded "South Africa"). Pissed giving info to someone on the other side of the world.
User's recommendation: Recommend you consider another company to deal with.

Same here! I’ve been out of work for over a month and my claim is still pending, I’ve uploaded multiple documents and the stress from filing a claim with Lincoln Financial has delayed my recovery and to think this is a voluntary deduction for short and long term disability, I am better off saving that money myself for future surgeries, etc. Come open enrollment, I will not re-enroll and take my chances managing it myself.
